I am a postdoctoral associate working with Mary-Louise Timmermans in the Atmosphere, Oceans, Climate Dynamics (AOCD) research group. My research area is Physical Oceanography in the Arctic Ocean.
My current research focuses on the deep Arctic, which has been isolated from the surface for hundreds of years, and has the potential to improve our understanding of past climate transitions. Previous work investigated connections between the changing Arctic climate, sea-ice, wind-generated internal waves and ocean mixing.
I am particularly interested in using fundamental fluid dynamics and physics to understand observational data. My theoretical work has focused on atmospheric internal gravity waves, near-inertial internal waves in the ocean, and double-diffusive heat transport. I am working with data from drifting Ice-Tethered Profilers as well as the Beaufort Gyre Observing System moorings in the Western Arctic.
