I am interested in tropical dynamics across a broad range of timescales, ranging from atmospheric moist convection on convective timescales, to the tropical response to Milankovitch cycles on glacial timescales. My advisor is Prof. Alexey Fedorov, and my primary research is on El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) dynamics. I am particularly interested in how ENSO properties (e.g. diversity, development, predictability) are affected by intraseasonal wind bursts as part of stochastic atmospheric forcing, and how those wind bursts themselves are modulated by ENSO. I am also working with Prof. William Boos on atmospheric moist convection and monsoon dynamics, particularly focused on the physics of elevated heating in the radiative-convective equilibrium (RCE) framework.
