I am a soil scientist with a professional interest in soil structural formation. More specifically, how biotic and abiotic factors influence soil aggregation. Soil is a fascinating natural system with a high complexity that often requires shaping or even building up new methods. While studying at the Technical University of Munich, I worked on the development of a correlative analysis that allows simultaneous investigation of soil chemical components and their relation to soil structural heterogeneity. As a postdoctoral researcher, I am eager to investigate how novel solutions in agricultural settings, such as enhanced mineral weathering, influence soil structure and mechanisms in soil aggregation, which ultimately define hot spots for C sequestration and ability to stabilize soil organic carbon.
