As a postdoc in Wostbrock’s lab, I use triple oxygen isotopes in water and tooth enamel carbonates and phosphates (modern and fossil) to investigate Cenozoic hydroclimate and its influence on hominin evolution.
I have a M.Sc. in Archaeological Sciences from the University of Tübingen (Germany) and a PhD in Anthropology from Yale University. In my previous research, I used δ13C, δ18O and Δ’17O in mammalian herbivore enamel to reconstruct seasonal hydroclimate in Malawi and Zambia since the Last Glacial Maximum; 87Sr/86Sr to track Pleistocene animal mobility and habitat use in Malawi, France and Italy; and large mammal fossils to investigate hunter-gatherer subsistence in Germany, Armenia and Malawi.
