I work with Dr. Noah Planavsky and colleagues at the Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture to research carbon dioxide removal (CDR) through enhanced rock weathering. My tasks include developing novel verification methods, coordinating fieldwork logistics and communications, analyzing soil samples using the TiCAT method, and conducting data analysis to obtain CDR estimates.
During my undergraduate studies at ETH Zurich, I developed a strong interest in isotope geochemistry. As a Paleoclimatology Intern at the University of Bergen, I worked with Dr. Nele Meckler, processing foraminifera samples for carbonate clumped isotope thermometry. For my undergraduate thesis, I conducted a research project supervised by Dr. Michael Ellwood (Australian National University) and Dr. Derek Vance (ETH Zurich), investigating the ecological role of nickel in the ocean to better understand its isotopic budget.
Through an internship at a carbon dioxide mineralization startup, I became passionate about the CDR ecosystem, and I’m thrilled to be able to combine that passion with my geochemistry background in my role here at Yale.
